1. Zebronics Zeb-Juke BAR 3900 Soundbar

2.1 Channel, 80 watt, 5.23 inch woofer

Build Aspect

The Zeb Juke Bar 3900 is one of the cheapest soundbar that is currently offered by Zebronics. The build quality of this setup is very good and both the units are well built. The soundbar is made from glossy plastic with metal grill, On the other hand the subwoofer is made from MDF. Furthermore the sleek and slim profile of both the units make them pleasing to look at all the while being minimalist. Soundbar can either be wall mounted or simply placed on the table top. On the whole it is well designed and solidly built. We couldn’t help but notice similarities in overall looks and construction to the Boat Aavante 1250.

Performance Aspect

While the Zebronics unit looks similar to the Boat Aavante 1250, lets see if that’s where the similarities end or is this another badge job. The first major difference is the added HDMI ARC port on the Juke Bar 3900. Akin to Boat this soundbar has a total of 3 drivers which cover the entire audio spectrum. Furthermore they are split between subwoofer and soundbar units with the latter having 2 drivers. Primarily this soundbar sounds very good, and it comes as no surprise at all. For instance the treble is clean, articulate while being agile. The mid-range is smooth and instruments are audible with distinction and precision.

Finally the subwoofer, if anything it performs its duty presenting and complementing the music and tracks with good and tight punchy bass, well unless pushed too hard. Do note the bass can get boomy at times, however it adds to the overall effect in movie watching especially during action sequences. All things said and done its a worthy contender and probably one of the best soundbar under ₹ 5000 in India you can buy.

PROS

Superb overall sound.
Premium and sleek looks.
Smooth mid-range performance.

CONS

Wired subwoofer.
Boomy bass output.

2. Samsung T400 2.0 Channel Soundbar

2.0 Channel, 40 watt, ~3.25 inch driver

Build Aspect

If you need a budget soundbar with fantastic build, appreciable sound quality read no more and simply buy the Samsung HW-T400/XL Soundbar available for around around ₹ 5000 INR. If you still need more reasons, read on. First and foremost the build quality and looks are very good. The unit is a solidly built one or atleast feels that way. It is wrapped in acoustically transparent cloth on the front and top which not only gives it a neat look but also looks elite. The soundbar is equipped with 4 drivers. On the connectivity side the soundbar has Optical, Aux, USB and Bluetooth. It also has a NFC tag on the top of the unit which makes pairing via Bluetooth super convenient.

Performance Aspect

This is a soundbar from Samsung and yet it does not cost an arm or leg. This is a budget soundbar from the point of view of Samsung. The output is rated at 40 watts for this soundbar. The audio quality is excellent and you can feel in in the texture and intricate details that it presents. The DAC is of high quality in this soundbar. Bass is adequate for normal TV viewing and casual music listening. It seems to strike the right balance wherein the sound quality feels completely fulfilling. The mids are resolving and relaxed, nonetheless more detailing is revealed than you would expect. Furthermore the tonality is natural and very open. Highs are another strong point for this soundbar, akin to the mid range the treble is smooth, has sparkle yet never sounds sibilant.

While dynamics are average the soundbar makes up for it with superior audio handling even when pushed to the limits. It is a perfect mix and this makes for a compelling case for this soundbar, of course unless you dig a subwoofer in which case you should either increase your budget or look at budget brands.

PROS

Well built product.
Admirable sound profile.
Budget price point.
Looks more expensive.

CONS

No HDMI.
Bass is just passable.

3. boAt Aavante Bar 1250 Soundbar

2.1 Channel, 40 watt, 5.25 inch woofer

Build Aspect

The Boat Aavante Bar 1250 soundbar is a 2.1 channel soundbar from the Indian audio brand. Right of the bat, the build quality of this setup feels very good and both the units are really well built. The soundbar is fabricated from high quality glossy plastic while the subwoofer from MDF. Furthermore the sleek and slender profile of both the units make them pleasing to look at and this should not take away anything from the looks of your entertainment system. The soundbar itself can either be wall mounted or simply placed in front of the TV.

Performance Aspect

While all Boat audio products are well built not all fare good on the performance yardstick. This soundbar has a total of 3 drivers which cover the entire audio bandwidth and are split between subwoofer and soundbar units with the latter having 2 drivers. Let me simply say this first, this soundbar sounds very good, and we are pleasantly surprised. Now lets dive into the details, the treble response and output is clean, clear and very transparent. It has got that hint of flare which borders on harshness but never crosses that fine line. Moreover the small but powerful 2.25″ drivers present sonic nuances with clarity and lots of depth, the sound-stage is wide and clear.

Finally the subwoofer, while it is not exactly groundbreaking, earth chattering one, it pairs well with the soundbar and completes the harmonious audio output that makes this package a whole. Do note the bass can get boomy at times, while it may add to the effects during action movies, its ill for critical and music listening. Nothing is perfect and with that in mind it would right to conclude that this is one of the best soundbar that you can buy for around ₹ 5000 in India.

PROS

Superb overall sound.
Premium and sleek looks.
Good dynamic mid-range performance.

CONS

Wired subwoofer.
No HDMI ARC.
Boomy bass output.

4. Zebronics Juke BAR 3650 Pro

2.2 Channel, 100 watt, 3 inch woofer

Build Aspect

Solid build quality, sleek form factor and small footprint yes we are talking about the Zebronics 3650 Soundbar. This is a fine looking soundbar alright. The glossy top, the mesh grill and overall heft all add to the feel good factor of this soundbar. It is made from plastic but that does not means it feels cheap. This soundbar packs 4 drivers in total. 2 oval shape forward firing for the main range and 2 upwards firing 3 inch woofers on top of the soundbar. Moreover it has a host of connectivity options such as 3.5mm, Optical IN & HDMI (ARC), Bluetooth.

Performance Aspect

While this setup doesn’t have the dedicated soundbar unit, it still demonstrably performs very well. The main range drivers are really up to the task and offer pristine high quality audio in a decent sized room. The output is remarkably clear and has a certain finesse to it. In tech talk the highs soar and sound very clean, although dedicated tweeters would have certainly increased the instrument separation. Furthermore the mids are good and presentable. They do not overpower the sound stage at any time. Lastly the dual subwoofers do an apt job. While it obviously lacks the grunt of a dedicated subwoofer, where it shines is ease of use and neatness. Stereo separation is average and that could be the result of drivers being close to each other. All in all its a very good soundbar and a certainly a must buy if you don’t crave strong bass.

PROS

Solid and elegant design.
Lots of connectivity options.
All in one setup.

CONS

Treble falters and separation suffers at loud volumes.
Stereo separation is subpar.

5. Blaupunkt SBW250 Soundbar

2.1 Channel, 200 watt, 8 inch woofer

Build Aspect

SBW 250 is a 200 watt soundbar costing around 10000 rupees in India. This soundbar subwoofer combo is sold by Blaupunkt. Well for starters this setup is quite simple yet sleek to look at. The octagonal shape of the soundbar is aesthetically pleasing and moreover gives it a relatively smaller than actual look. The subwoofer has a tall stance which makes it slim and therefore easy to accommodate into tight places. It features an 8 inch driver which is mounted on the side with a front facing round shaped bass reflex port. This subwoofer is made of MDF and a slight knock on the cabinet tells us that the build quality is just acceptable. The rear of the soundbar has all the input options and the subwoofer output port. The control set is mounted on the side and the buttons have a clicky tactile feedback.

We would have expected slightly more input options such as Optical or Coaxial digital but these are conspicuous by there absence. Lastly the remote control is a good unit and not a skinny and minimal kind of one usually sold with many soundbars.

Performance Aspect

This a 200 watt soundbar and this soundbar setup should be able to provide you with good dynamics and theatrical experience. Lets find out if it does. The soundbar unit is equipped with 4 identical drivers in 2 Left – 2 Right configuration making this a 2.1 Soundbar. The spacing between the drivers is good and this results in good channel separation. Apart from that overall audio output is quite charming. For instance during the playback of “Jack Ryan” S3 in the opening sequence the panning effect was superb. Furthermore the 8 inch driver was slamming hard and that resulted in chest pounding bass. There is a hint of bloating in mid-bass, probably when the bass amplifier is peaking out. The mid-range and the instruments sounded lush and pristine.

However during dialogues a slightly pronounced mid-bass was felt and the subwoofer swung into action unnecessarily. Dynamics are the strong suit and that is made possible by the supreme highs courtesy of the 4 drivers that are plonked in to the soundbar. The preset modes weren’t to our liking and manual tuning of the Bass/treble made the sound better for us. All of this make for a strong case for this system since it does fare quite well in the price segment that it is targeted for.

PROS

8 inch woofer, slams hard.
Fantastic channel separation.
Dynamic sound profile.

CONS

No optical input.
Mid-range is a bit of disappointment.

6. ZEBRONICS Juke BAR 100A Soundbar

2.1 Channel, 60 watt, 4 inch woofer

Build Aspect

Zebronics Juke BAR 100A is a relatively small sized soundbar setup meant for small rooms and compact spaces. It is a 2 piece set with a dedicated soundbar unit which houses a 4 inch driver for bass effects. The soundbar looks stylish and trendy. Moreover it has a good feel to it and weighs in very nicely. The subwoofer unit is another story. It is light in weight, a simple knock gives a less than reassuring sound of hollowness. This system packs a lot of connectivity options such as HDMI ARC, Coaxial Digital, Bluetooth and Aux In apart from a USB port. However Optical input is absent and prospective buyers should take a note of the same.

Performance Aspect

Hmm, a soundbar with a dedicated subwoofer that too for under 5000 rupees, sounds attractive. But audio is not that attractive. For instance the bass is muddy and the only thing it does is spoil the mids and dialogue clarity. Similarly the stereo separation is literally absent as would be expected when the drivers are co-located so close to each other. Don’t dampen your spirit yet as the midrange otherwise is good and instruments such as violins, flute, trumpets and the like sound good and clear. While highs and related sounds of instruments like cymbals and triangles sound focused there seems to be an unnatural bump in the highs which creates the illusion of a peaking high range. Conclusively it is a decent system with HDMI connectivity and solid dynamics.

However it is only one of the best soundbar under ₹ 5000 and it might disappoint you if you keep your expectations high with regard to that subwoofer.

PROS

Good mid range.
Loud and dynamic output.
Compact system.
Lots of input options.

CONS

No Optical input.
Bass is muddy.

7. Boat Aavante Bar Orion

2.1 Channel, 160 watt, 6.5 inch woofer

Build Aspect

Boat audio products such as the Aavante series Soundbars offer excellent audio reproduction and fantastic value for your money. Come 2022 Diwali and Boat presents its latest offering the Orion soundbar. The soundbar is made from plastic with a metal grill and is equipped with 4 x 2.25″ drivers that perform the mid-range and treble duty. It is flanked with LEDs on the sides which not only looks cool but also enhances the visual appeal of the room. Moving on the wired subwoofer is equipped with a generously sized 6.5″ driver, and is made from MDF. The subwoofer driver is side firing with a front bass reflex port to extend and increase the LFE output. The side firing configuration ensures that the form factor is slim. Plenty of input options such as Optical, USB, Bluetooth are supported.

Performance Aspect

The sound quality, hmm the most important aspect of soundbar. Well, the audio has an excellent dynamic sound, its all shock and awe! The highs are strong, a bit too strong at times and lend the sound profile the dynamics that it has. It does feel over the top at times but if you like the dhinchak kind of sound you will love it. Add to it the performance of the 6.5″ driver and its all “balle balle”. Yes the beats are well poised to complete the harmony in audio and compliment the highs with utmost presence. It only gets out of control so to say when pushed beyond the limits of amplification. On the mid range side this soundbar not only presents vocals and instruments with decent clarity but also lots of warmth. The dialogues are intelligible yet not too loud.

Granted it lacks in bass department but it is still a very competent setup and perhaps one of the best soundbar under ₹ 5000 in India.

PROS

Fantastic overall sound.
Enhances TV / movie experience.
Lots of connectivity options.
Cool LEDs are unique and offer visual appeal.

CONS

Bass driver struggles at loud volumes.
Highs sound shrill and piercing at times.

8. ZEBRONICS Juke BAR 3810 PRO Soundbar

2.0 Channel, 100 watt, 2.16 x 3.34 inch driver

Build Aspect

Zebronics has a large portfolio of Soundbars in India. The 3810 Pro is from the lower mid tier and if a one piece setup for those who don’t want a dedicated subwoofer unit. This is a hefty soundbar and looks great in person. The Dolby Audio logo on front means it has Dolby Decoding capabilities. This soundbar is quipped with 4 identical drivers of oval shape with the longer side measuring 3.34 inches. The retro look volume knob does add a few stars to its looks and is located on the right side. A bass extension port is located on the left side. As with most soundbars this can be wall mounted or simply kept on a table top. Connectivity options include HDMI-ARC, Optical input, USB and Bluetooth and 3.5mm Aux.

Performance Aspect

There are 4 drivers, 2 for each left and right channels in this soundbar. The drivers combine to give a 100 watt output which sounds great. However there seems to be no crossover in use and all of them run full range. The sound stage is wide and this soundbar can go loud, very loud without breaking a sweat. The bass out put is good as would be from a budget soundbar without a dedicated subwoofer. You can’t expect it to rattle windows but it adds good depth to the soundtracks. Furthermore the mids are the strong suit as lead instruments, vocals really gleam! Similarly the treble is top rate upto mid volumes after which it feels kind of congested and flustered. Driver arrangement is good and this makes for a appreciable stereo effect.

Add Dolby decoding into the mix and this soundbar turns out to be a winner and essentially one of the best, especially if your budget is constrained to soundbars under ₹ 5000.

PROS

Superb output and audio quality.
Impressive mid range performance.
Space saving single piece soundbar.

CONS

Lows are just average.
Music sounds congested at loud volumes or during intense passages.

This is an interesting post. I am already using many zebronics products and can totally agree with the supreme performance of the products. I wish brands like Samsung and LG also think about budget buyers and give some good options.

      Dear Raju
Samsung has some entry level soundbar options below 10000 rupees, but not under 5000 rupees.
