Build Aspect

Blaupunkt SBW08 soundbar is a somewhat big and hefty setup consisting of 4 x 2.25 inch drivers in the soundbar and one decent sized 8 inch driver in the subwoofer. The soundbar is slim despite the bulk and the face is quite modern to look at too. Similarly despite the generous sized driver the footprint of subwoofer is small and fits easily in corners. Coming to the construction bit the soundbar unit is made of dense plastic, which is solid and has a decent heft to it. Likewise the subwoofer unit feels quite robust and is made of MDF. On the whole the entire setup feels well built and worth the money spent.

Performance Aspect

With 4 drivers in the soundbar and an 8 inch driver in the subwoofer this unit had to sound good. And yes it does, the sound stage is not only powerful but well balanced even at loud and intense passages of sound. The 8 inch driver is up to the task and handles bass content with ease and prowess. It is noteworthy that the soundbar outputs highs and treble with smoothness and perfect articulation, never sounding sibilant or piercing. Furthermore the mid range is clear although there is slight emphasis on the higher mids, which make certain lead instruments sound too pronounced. Thanks to 4 drivers the channel separation is good and the soundbar gives a convincing stereo effect, although we wish that it was a 5.1 channel capable setup. To conclude it would be wise to say that this is a powerful soundbar and wont disappoint anyone who is looking to buy a soundbar in the 10000 rupee range.
