Build Aspect

Blaupunkt SBW200 is a soundbar and subwoofer combo with a dual driver configuration in the soundbar and a large 8 inch driver in the subwoofer unit. The construction and quality of materials used is good and the soundbar feels premium and solidly built, it has a metal mesh front grill beneath which is a peeking display and the said drivers. Likewise the subwoofer is heavy and feels well built, however since the driver is side mounted its slim albeit tall and deep with a rounder front firing port. The system feel well put together and premium, with Blaupunkt not cutting any corners in the build of this soundbar system. Do note that the carton box prominently displays that this system is “Made In India”.

Performance Aspect

We set out with modest expectation from this soundbar system so as to make sure we are not disappointed, but bloody nora! we were so wrong. For instance the 8 inch subwoofer works tirelessly and incessantly to provide deep bass and rumble which puts you right in the middle of an action scene. Although admittedly its not fast and also lacks accuracy and therefore is not best suited for musical tracks. Moving on, the treble is crystal clear i.e., the cymbals, triangles are just perfect, never sounding too piercing. Unfortunately midrange is not the strong suit of this system and sometimes the bass does tend to mask the vocals. In totality its a system which like any other product has its weaknesses but all things considered its a good value for money buy.
