Build Aspect
Blue Star makes some of the best products in Air Conditioning. The IC518EBTU is another such AC with Inverter Technology compressor and 5 star energy efficiency rating. The indoor unit has a simple yet elegant design with clean lines. Apart from that the use of a hidden display accentuates the design and gives it an elite look. Moreover the remote control is a handy and nifty unit. The outdoor unit is well built as well and should easily protect the compressor and coils from foreign elements and damage. Having said that the weight is comparably more than the IC318EBTU.
Performance Aspect
This Blue Star AC has a BTU/hour rating of 17739 only. It is somewhat less than the at-par 18000 BTU expected from a 1.5 Ton AC. However its cooling is decent and the AC is effective. This compressor has got a modest 492 CFM blower as its companion. Look for other options if the room is on the longer side, since draft of AC wont reach the distance with oomph. This combo delivers just passable performance but definitely good energy savings. Yes its a 5 star rated AC. We breathe a sigh of respite since this AC is equipped with a “thank you God” 4 way auto swing. In short it is a decent AC with adequate performance and thus a recommended buy in India.
