Build Aspect
Carrier CAI12ER3R33F0 is a 1 Ton 3 star rated split Air conditioner from the well acclaimed Ester CXI series. This Air conditioner has good looks and build quality which is consistent with Carrier brand theme. The overall silhouette is a mixture of curves and straight lines and this AC gives good overall impressions. The IDU has a little more depth than would be expected and as a consequence it protrudes a little more from the wall. Subsequently if you need something that is slim there are better options. The ODU while is appropriately sized is quite light in weight. It does not feel particularly durable and robust. Moreover we were disappointed to see that the coils lacked even a basic sort of coating.
Performance Aspect
Alright then, about the performance. While this AC is certainly not a beast, it does seem to do an adequate job mostly. For instance its near about 12000 BTU cooling is right on the money, that is right about the cooling power which would be expected of a 1 ton AC. This does a satisfactory job of cooling the room, quickly and effortlessly. However the fan blower is not too strong. It peaks out at 400 CFM which does not seem to help the case of just “adequate job”. Making matters worse is the lack of 4 way swing mechanism. While this AC does not tick all the boxes it does happen to be very affordable and that combined with an acceptable and mostly satisfying cooling makes it a not bad buy at all.

ODU build is finicky.
