Build Aspect
JBL audio products are such definitely one of the most sought after and value for money. We certainly hope that the SB261 is also true to that statement. Alright then, the soundbar it self is made from plastic and is equipped with 2 qty 1.9 x 3.54″ oval drivers for mid-range and 2 0.5″ tweeter drivers that perform the treble duty, while the bigger unit called the sub-woofer performs the bass duty and is equipped with a 5.25″ driver. Glossy soundbar looks adequately built and seems sturdy enough, similarly the MDF wireless subwoofer is quiet meaty and feels well built and dampened. Soundbar has the capability to be wall mounted and as such is relatively light weight.
Performance Aspect
Well, the initial impressions of this soundbar are very good. The quad driver setup in the soundbar really shines through and presents incredible level of details at this price point. Even with the wireless subwoofer turned off the soundbar does a fantastic job to make the TV viewing more engaging. While the bass is strong and adds lots of thump, groove and rumble to action movies it is a little boomy and can overshadow the mid-range if not kept in check. However stereo imaging and channel separation is very good as a result of the dedicated tweeters. All things considered it is still one of the finest and best sounding soundbars under 15000 rupees in India.
