Build Aspect

JW-Q18WUZA is a retro look style 1.5 Ton window AC with an inverter compressor from LG. Firstly the AC breaks a much needed monotony in the looks department and manages to stand out all the while looking classy. Secondly the build quality of the AC is very good and therefore the AC should be very durable. For example the copper (only on inside) is protected with “Ocean Black Protection”. However also keep in mind that intake grill is located at the bottom of AC unit, so if this AC is installed near floor level it will tend to suck in debris, clogging the filters quickly and if installed too high near ceiling then its air will take considerable length before reaching sofa / bed levels. Also although the AC looks good from many angles it has a bumped up stomach which is prominent and somewhat ugly when looked from sides.

Performance Aspect

The cooling of this window AC is rather adequate 17060 BTU. In unison with a good air speed of 459 CFM this Air conditioner is able to work its charm very easily and quickly. Additionally the AC is very efficient with a perfect 5 star energy efficiency rating. However it lacks a PM 2.5 filter even though its such an expensive AC and this is not the worst news. The worst is that the louvers do not have any kind of motorized swing at all, its all manual! Not all is dark though as it has a built in WiFi module which helps to integrate within a smart home system and control it with voice or mobile device. To sum it all up, taking into account its good cooling performance, its efficiency and robust build quality its a fine AC and rivals the best at the core functions i.e., cooling.
