Build Aspect
PW-Q18WUZA is the twin sibling of JW-Q18WUZA. This window is a retro look style 1.5 Ton window AC with an inverter compressor from LG. The AC breaks a much needed monotony in the looks department and looks classy, its a fashion statment. Secondly the build quality and fit-finish all are top-notch. For example the copper tubes (only on inside) are protected with “Ocean Black Protection”. It is worth noting that the air intake grill is located at the bottom of AC unit, so if this AC is installed near floor level it will tend to suck in more dust and debris. Subsequently clogging the filters quickly. On the other hand if it is installed too high near ceiling then its air will take considerable length before reaching sofa / bed levels. Also although the AC looks good from many angles it has a bumped up stomach which is prominent and somewhat ugly when looked from sides.
Performance Aspect
The cooling of this window AC is rated at 17060 BTU, its not humongous but when put through to paces very effective. Furthermore it has a good companion in the form of air blower which has a 459 CFM air capability. The result is as expected an air of satisfaction and relief. Do not forget that the AC is very efficient with a perfect 5 star energy efficiency rating. However it lacks a PM 2.5 filter even though its such an expensive AC and this is not the worst news. The worst is that the louvers do not have any kind of motorized swing at all, no nada nil! On the other hand it has a Wi Fi module to enable voice and app based control. Therefore to sum it up, taking into account its apt cooling, its high efficiency and superb build quality it can be termed as a fantastic 1.5 Ton Window Air Conditioner.’
