Build Aspect
RW-Q18WUZA is a classy and flamboyant looking window AC from LG. Not only that this Air conditioner looks elite and very premium too. Additionally the internals such as the copper tubes (only on inside) are protected with “Ocean Black Protection” as well. It is worth noting that the air intake grill is located at the bottom of AC unit. As a result this AC tends to suck in more dust and debris if installed near floor level, subsequently clogging the filters quickly. On the other hand if it is installed too high near ceiling then its air will take considerable length before reaching sofa / bed levels.
Performance Aspect
The cooling of this window AC is rated at 17060 BTU which does not seem to be impressive on paper. Nevertheless when it is used the AC does impress with good levels of cooling. It is worth noting that the fan blower is rated at 459 CFM, which might not seem like much but is quite enough actually. Ofcourse this AC has an ISEER of 3.68 w/w which makes it a very efficient Window Air Conditioner. Unfortunately there is one issue, the louvers do not have any kind of motorized swing at all, which makes directing air flow a hassle and that’s a big no-no for some of us who are too lazy! Summary of it all being that while this AC is good, has splendid looks, is efficient too it is not easy to find a suitable installation location and moreover lacks a much necessary remote controlled swing mechanism.
