Build Aspect
OnePlus Buds Z2 are the latest iteration of TWS earbuds with ANC capabilities from OnePlus. Right of the bat they feel a very worthy successor to OnePlus Buds Z, that is the quality that these earphones have. For instance high quality plastics, rich glossy finish and a pocket-able design all are tell-a-tale signs of premium yet value for money quotient of these earbuds. Similarly the fitting is decently comfortable and as a result of small ear stems they look flamboyant. The charging case enables the overall playback time of 7 hours (ANC off) to be extended to nearly 38 hours, which is quite the feat. While currently these are sold in just 2 colors, black and white, a stylized version like the Steve Harrington Buds Z could be on the cards sometime in future.
Performance Aspect
The original Buds Z had strong bass response and a sculpted sort of sound profile, that is a winner. Evidently the Z2 have got a similar sound profile with boosted highs and strong lows. In layman terms these earphones have boot full of bass and punch and the treble is crispy and sparkly. The earphones sound good mostly, unless you are a purist, in which case you would feel that the mid-range is drowned out and somewhat grainy. Moving on, the ANC is apt and does a very good job of cancelling ambient static noises such as engine and machine notes. Moreover the microphone facilitates calls with perfect intelligibility, which is a definite bonus. All in all these TWS earbuds are quite desirable at around ₹ 5000 rupees, although if ANC is not needed then the original OnePluz Buds Z can be had for lesser price.
