Build Aspect

JBL is name that is synonymous with audio and sound. The SB120 is a budget offering from JBL with a 110 watt power output. The soundbar it self is made from plastic and is plonked with a total of 3 drivers, 2 of them being 2.25″ which perform the mid-range and treble duty. Whereas the bigger driver with a 2.5″ size is used for bass. Unsurprisingly the build is impressive and the quality of construction top-notch. Furthermore the soundbar has the capability to be wall mounted and consequently is relatively light weight. Nonetheless the soundbar has a low height profile making it possible to keep it below or in front of the LED TV. A nifty remote control powered by a button cell is provided, it gets the job done!

Performance Aspect

The soundbar is primarily intended to replace the poor audio performance faced while watching TV. And it does a splendid job of making sure no dialogue goes unheard. Lets talk technical, the mid-range is clean and very upfront and the 2 2.5″ drivers provide a good forward listening experience. Similarly the treble and highs are airy and present even faint nuances with clarity and fidelity. However as expected the lows leave us asking for more. While for the casual listener it is a complete setup, its the bass lover that would miss the thunderous bass which is to be found in some other and cheaper options. Be that as it may it is still one of the finest and best sounding soundbars under 10000 rupees in India.
